Church Eaton Tennis Club, LTA affiliated, is situated in the heart of Church Eaton on the south side of the cricket ground. Together with the cricket club we make up the Glebelands Sports Association. We are within easy reach of Gnosall, Bradley and Wheaton Aston. The club is at 52.7539N, 2.22604W (the green arrow on the map) or Ordnance Survey reference SJ 848 174.

We have two hard courts resurfaced in October 2008 for play throughout the year. During the summer our club evening is Wednesday, early evening 5pm to 7pm for the juniors and later, 7pm onwards for the adult members. All year round we have two weekday morning club sessions, Betty and friends, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and a recently introduced Sunday morning session.

Coaching

Team Captain Jonathan Ashby, runs coaching programmes for juniors on Saturday mornings, and for adults on Thursday evenings during the summer and mutually agreed times during the winter. Occasional free introductory "Play Tennis" events are held.

 

League Teams

2 men's and 1 ladies' team have been entered in the 2012 County leagues following the very successful 2011 season for the men's team coming top of their division. The "winter woollies" event at Newport's Boughey Gardens Tennis Club was entered over 2011/12 with great success. Contact Jonathan if you wish to be selected for a team.

 

Tournaments

Open and closing season tournaments were held in 2011 for adults. Both were very enjoyable events organised by Jon. Men's and Women's singles tournament finals were played on Sunday 6th November 2011. Jon has won the 2011 Men's Singles County Closed Tournament.
